Wiunu told the story of her life in 1915, when she was about ninety-five.

She admitted to being a restless person. During her long life Wiunu
could recall moving twenty-three times, three or four times because a
close relative had died and she had not wished to remain in the village
where the death had occurred, but most likely she had moved, she said.,
"just to be moving".

She lived less than five years on the average in any one village, yet the map
of her changing residences shows not only that she never crossed the border
of her own Mono world, but also that she satisfied her restlessness within
an area of no more than sixty-eight square miles.
